adoption process

Our Adoption Process

At Small Town Golden Retrievers, our puppies are family members, not products, therefore we do our best to select the very best match for both our puppies and your family. Because of this, the first step in our adoption process is filling out an application (below). Once approved for adoption, we require a deposit. Then comes the fun part, you meet the puppies in-person, and choose your puppy in order of deposit received. Because puppies become family members, we feel that selecting a puppy in person is essential.

I have answered all questions honestly and agree to the following statement:
I understand that even though we have taken the time and expense to engage in health screening before mating our Golden Retrievers, there can be no guarantee that the puppy/dog purchased is completely free of genetic defect. This includes allergies. Which can include food and environmental allergies.

Training Program

We are linked with a certified dog trainer that if you so choose, your puppy could go to her from age 8-12 weeks and learn the basic foundation training such as Sit, Stay, Come, Being crated for the night, leash walking, basic manners, potty training, more in depth socialization ect.

This is a great program to really jumpstart your puppies training with a certified trainer. She has worked with lots of puppies and does a great job!

This is a program that if you are thinking to choose that option we should know it as soon as possible in order to have the trainer reserve a place for your puppy for that month!

The cost for this program is $550 per week.

2 weeks is the minimum time frame the trainer allows and she will do the program for up to 8 weeks.
